MESSAGE FROM FR. VINCE
Dear
Parishioners,
Decisions...decisions...
I set before you here, this day, a blessing and a curse: a blessing
for obeying the commandments of the Lord, your God,... a
curse if you do not obey... (First Reading of this Sunday’s
Mass). Choose life. The commandments of God mandate us to choose
to protect the life of the unborn, the poor and the vulnerable. The
commandments of God mandate the end to all war, and the myriads of
ways we justify violating the fourth commandment. Choose life. I
marveled again recently at the way a certain husband cares for his
wife whose illness requires that she receive total care. There are
so many examples of heroic ways in which people choose life. And
there are so many ways in which we violate the right to life and
human dignity for those we deem undesirable. So God says to us,
Be careful to observe all the statutes and decrees that I set before
you today.
Fr.
Vince
